I have worked in Manual functional testing for BFSI clients with 9yrs of experience in the area. My interests are more towards a domain - functional role. My current organization is reluctant/non-committal about allowing this transition. Also I have two children so after a break want to consolidate my career in the Business analysis area. How do I look out for opportunities in the same as someone with not a 100% match in the role I'm looking out for even if I'm willing to get an equal pay as my current CTC.... 05 Jan 2017, 08:05am
I don't think there should be an issue to move into a BA role from a functional testing role if your domain knowledge is good. What I have not understood from your questions is whether you are currently employed or on a break?
If you are employed and your current organisation is not allowing you to make the change, then you can look at other organisations being in your current role. That's easier. And you could suggest to your current organisation that you will do a stretch BA role for a small project to prove your capability
If you are on a break and considering to return and also make a switch, that might get difficult. Also, you are stating a salary requirement. So, matching all this will become difficult. you will have to prioritise what's most important amongst all and if the role is most important, you might have to compromise on the salary. View Less
