Hi Rajita, I have worked with top BPO and KPO companies in Delhi NCR for more than 3 years. I got married in 2012 and I shifted to Varanasi. Now I am planning to open a small rural BPO of my own in Varanasi itself. Please suggest me the ways to check whether an outsourcing company which is providing BPO projects is genuine or not. I have contacted several companies but unable to trust them. Please provide names of few genuine BPO project providers. Regards, Akanksha

Hi Akanksha, Good thought... But I think instead of looking for work like this... Whiteboard a bit for urself, look at what type of talent pool you have and what you can train on, then look at market and go directly instead of subcontracting will be great. If you want to discuss about what feel free to write back and we can talk. All the best

Hi Ma'am, I am a computer engineer with 3 years of experience in software industry. I am very passionate about technology. However I was not lucky enough to get the career stream of my choice. I have been struggling since then. I love development but i was put into testing projects in my first job even though i didn't want to. And now when I am trying to switch back to development the employers need relevant experience in the stream. Off late I have developed huge interest in big data technologies and i am working hard to enhance my skills.I want to be a data engineer or a data scientist which may need a professional degree. I cannot go for an MS degree because of family constraints.I am also considering building some software which would be a revolution in big data industry. Lot of things in mind but the path is not clear.Desperately need someone to mentor me. Could you please help??
09 Sep 2016, 05:03pm
Hi Arshiya, A few things you need to do: 1) your heart is totally with big data or your getting tempting coz of the fad? 2) you invested 3 yrs of your career in testing and your ok to make the switch and start as a fresher? If you are clear above then here are a few things: You could sign up for this course at http://www.insofe.edu.in they are the leaders in Big data and data analytics You could sign up with course era to do free online courses Get connected with people and grow your network here... Use linkedin, meetup groups and github Do you want to become a data scientist or be like a BA? Keep one thing in mind whatever you do.., will take time to develop expertise so do have patience and wish you all the very best.

Hi, Good choice of picking this field coz it's definitely niche and demand would grow... You should follow and do the ceh and training related will add value coz in this area certifications would be beneficial. Also try to do some hackathons will be an experience if not done already.

Hi Rachana, Good to see you wanting to join back. A very candid reply, PMP is now an easily available skill, so it would be important to understand how do we reposition you in the ever so changing industry. If your looking at the 2nd innings then many companies have special programs TCS is one which has a very successful career track. There is also Avatar Consulting..,. They do a lot of work on bringing women back. All the best.

Hi , I started working as Auditor and Consultant for ISO Compliance for 4 years. I left my job in last Nov since my husband got posted to Bhutan for two years. Currently I am looking out for work from home options in Business Assurance and Information Security domain. But it is difficult to get work from home options in auditing. Can you help me in suggesting, how can i shape my career in these two years ? Should i all together look for new domain instead of auditing ?
22 Jul 2016, 09:40am
Hi Shalini, If you enjoy this and it's your calling... Don't even think of switching.,, the field is such that wfh wouldn't be possible that said, why don't you do some certifications? Also I know the Bhutan govt. is very fwd lkg, so why don't you see if you could do some projects there even if it's Foc atleast you are using your knowledge and will be of great value. Worse case scenario its a beautiful country njoy and when back am Sure you will have enough to be back with. Use the time to either travel njoy or enhance by way of certifications. All the best

Shruti - a question for a question... do you think it's important to be relevant? If your answer is yes then I'd say absolutely.., the medium from where you learn doesn't matter.., but what you learn and implement is key.,, so go for it..., sky is the limit

Hello Mam, I have completed my engineering in 2010, after that I worked for 2 years as a software Tester in Bangalore...Then due to my husband’s job we relocated to Delhi in 2012 and soon then we planned our baby. To utilise the time, I joined M-tech in 2013, same got completed last month. Now I am planning to get back to work. My past work experience is on Manual testing and my M-tech is on Digital Communication. I am open to work any of these two domains. Although I want to get back to work, but I prefer work from home option. Please advise how I can get a suitable opportunity.
09 Jul 2016, 06:20am
Doorvaa congrats with the baby and your Masters. Based on what I read my sense is you need to spend some more time with yourself... before you decide anything at all.., work from home sounds easy but at times can be a lot more taxing.. Instead if there are opportunities in Delhi why don't you look to do more like consulting assignments so that way you will figure out what works for you and also clarity.,, hope this helps... Wish you luck

hi,my ques was about making a switch to Digital marketing after 5 yrs of IT exp.You had asked me to share about the domain.I have experience in testing.I have upgraded to automation testing but as my coding knowledge isn't much so i suppose i will be limited here as well as i do not find the role challenging.Switching to Digital marketing was a decision i took based on the boon in this area other than that i also considered about a distance mba or data analysis. The risk taking and deciding seems to be scary to me as i cannot afford to sit idle.I can work hard and smart on any technology this i am sure of but whether there are jobs in these domains for somebody like me who is switching after this experience is a question.looking forward to your valuable feedback.
04 Jul 2016, 09:43am
Monika - taking a risk is always tough... I blv that we can make a switch as long as we have the conviction... So to me if your game to take the plunge... There's only moving up from there :) On your query doing anything is keeping you busy.., to be digital marketing is very crowded and only differentiating factor is data and how it's used the yield results in marketing. Doing things differently is key.. So if u have the creative instinct go for it whole hog.., All the best

Hi Swathi, There are umpteen opportunities available...but as I see you want to make a switch from an ops position to a technical / QA one. It is a possible switch.. but do know that this will be starting as a fresher again.. If ur ok with that then should be an intg one. Needless to say in testing the trend is automation and many towards performance specialization etc. also I would suggest to take a look at openings around your city, will give a sense of the direction your taking.
